On December 5, the third annual Demine Ukraine Forum took place in Kyiv. During the forum, four representatives were recognized for their significant contributions to humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Among them was Rovertech, the only technological defense company to receive this distinction. The team was awarded for creating and implementing high-tech solutions that are transforming approaches to humanitarian demining, increasing operational efficiency, and having a substantial impact on the development of engineering innovations in Ukraine.

“We express special gratitude for the contribution of the company’s late founder and CEO, Bohdan Zmyi, whose dedication to the cause and aspiration to make Ukraine safer became the foundation of this success. His name will forever remain one of the symbols of technological development in the field of humanitarian demining.” the event organizers noted.
“We sincerely thank Demine Ukraine for this recognition. It is the result of the efforts of the entire Rovertech team, which works every day for the sake of a safe future for Ukraine. Our team is proud to be involved in a process on which the daily peace of mind of each of us depends. We clearly understand that without demining, full-scale post-war recovery of Ukraine is practically impossible. Demining is crucial for the effective work of our defenders and their safe evacuation.”
“We will continue to develop what we started together with Bohdan—doing everything possible to ensure that his vision and values live on in every decision we make and every product we create. This recognition is about responsibility and motivation for us to move forward. Thank you for your trust, and we are ready to continue contributing to a safe future for Ukraine” said Vasyl Korenovskyi, Director of Rovertech.
The main topics of discussion during the forum included:
-
Humanitarian demining as an investment in Ukraine’s future: the impact of land clearance on the economy, development of the agricultural sector, public-private partnerships, and the role of regions in recovery.
-
International support and its strategic impact: donors’ contributions to accelerating demining, digital solutions, specialist training, innovations, and the exchange of international experience.
-
Partnership for development: effective financial models, participation of the state and the private sector, investments in land demining, and incentives for recovery.
-
Synergy of national and international standards: combining international requirements with Ukrainian realities, adapting standards to innovations, and forming new approaches based on Ukrainian experience.
The forum also presented a new prioritization system, GRIT, created using Palantir technologies. This tool consolidates various territorial data, analyzes them, and helps make precise management decisions and use resources more efficiently.

Participants once again emphasized the critical importance of joint efforts by the state, international partners, and private business for the safe and successful recovery of Ukraine. Such meetings foster the development of new strategies, the implementation of innovations, and the strengthening of cooperation. In turn, this helps accelerate the return of land to communities, economic recovery, and the formation of a resilient future for the country.
The Demine Ukraine Forum is a key event dedicated to humanitarian demining, bringing together about 600 participants—from government officials and military administrations to international organizations, mine action operators, equipment manufacturers, scientists, innovators, and the public. The forum serves as a leading platform for discussing innovative approaches to the problem of mined territories. Its main goal is to mobilize international support and resources for the implementation of cutting-edge solutions in the field of demining.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine together with the Humanitarian Demining Center, with the support of UNDP and funding from the governments of Norway and the Netherlands.
