The ZMIY unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) developed by Rovertech are becoming an integral part of the modern battlefield. These systems carry out missions in the most dangerous areas, reducing risks for soldiers and helping save lives.
The scale of such technologies was highlighted by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy while summarizing the performance of Ukraine’s defense-industrial sector:
“The future is already on the frontline, and it is being created by Ukraine. These are our unmanned ground vehicles. For the first time in the history of this war, an enemy position was captured exclusively by unmanned platforms — UGVs and drones. The occupiers surrendered, and the operation was completed without infantry involvement and without losses on our side.
ZMIY and our other UGVs have completed more than 22,000 missions on the frontline in just three months. In other words, more than 22,000 times lives were saved — because a robot, rather than a soldier, entered the most dangerous zones.”
The ZMIY UGVs are among the solutions already operating on the frontline today. The platforms are used for logistics, cargo delivery, operations in the kill zone, and support of military units in situations where human presence involves extreme risk.
Thanks to their compact design, off-road mobility, and remote-control capabilities, ZMIY systems can operate in environments where conventional vehicles or personnel cannot work safely. This enables critical missions to be completed without exposing soldiers to high-risk areas.
“Rovertech is grateful for the trust placed in us and for the opportunity to help defend our country through technology.
We are preparing even more advanced solutions that will help secure Ukraine’s advantage on the ground,” said Vasyl Korenovskyi, co-founder of Rovertech.
Rovertech continues to develop and improve the ZMIY UGV platform, increasing the number of missions where technology takes the risk instead of people.
