Rovertech’s ZMIY unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) travelled along Khreshchatyk as part of Ukraine’s first-ever parade of aerial, ground and maritime drones. The event took place in Kyiv on 24 August, marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
This year, Ukraine showcased technologies already deployed on the modern battlefield in place of a traditional display of military equipment. Thirty Ukrainian-made unmanned ground vehicles were presented on Khreshchatyk, including Rovertech’s ZMIY.
Alongside other domestically developed systems, ZMIY represented the robotic capabilities of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
“For Rovertech, taking part in the parade is, above all, a reflection of the changing role of ground robotics in warfare. What was seen as a promising technology just a few years ago is now carrying out real battlefield tasks: logistics, evacuation, engineering and combat missions, shifting some of the most dangerous work from people to machines,” said Rovertech CEO Vasyl Korenovskyi.
This principle guides Rovertech’s development of unmanned ground vehicles designed to operate where military personnel face the greatest risk.
