Rovertech’s ZMIY ground robots win DOU Awards 2026

Ukrainian defence tech company Rovertech has been named the winner of the DOU Awards 2026 in the category Most Promising Project in the Defense Tech Sector.” The award was granted to the ZMIY ground robotic systems projectplatforms actively used by units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces to carry out combat, logistics, and engineering missions.

The DOU Awards are an annual recognition presented by Ukraine’s largest IT community, highlighting technology companies and innovative projects that advance the Ukrainian tech industry and develop new solutions during wartime.

The ZMIY ground robotic systems are designed to operate in environments where human presence is too dangerous. These platforms perform a wide range of tasks, including frontline logistics, ammunition delivery, casualty evacuation, engineering operations, and demining.

One of Rovertech’s key innovations is its armored logistics platforms, specifically engineered for operation in intense combat environments.

Unlike unarmored systems that typically survive an average of around seven missions, ZMIY robots can complete up to 80 missions within the kill zoneoften surviving FPV drone strikes, mine explosions, and other battlefield damage. In some cases, the platforms have endured 30–40 attacks while continuing to perform their missions.

In 2025 alone, more than 600 Rovertech robotic platforms were delivered to units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In total, around 800 robots of various modifications have already been deployed to the frontline.

According to military units, the use of logistics robots significantly reduces risks for personnel. Statistics from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade indicate that a single ZMIY logistics robot helps save up to 100 soldiers on average by performing missions in high-risk zones where such tasks previously had to be carried out by soldiers or conventional vehicles.

A dedicated modification of the platform is also used for engineering operations and demining. According to Rovertech, a single machine is capable of clearing over 50 hectares of territory, operating remotely in areas with severe mine hazards.

It is a great honor for us to receive this award from the IT community. These are some of the strongest technology and engineering professionals in Ukraine, capable of evaluating innovation at the highest level.
We are very grateful for the recognition of our developments and for the support — we know that many people from the tech community have helped military units purchase our robots for the frontline.
We will continue developing the ZMIY platform and working on new innovations to justify the trust this award represents,” said Borys Drozhak, co-founder of Rovertech.

Rovertech continues to expand its lineup of ground robotic systems and is developing new technological solutions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine — from logistics and engineering platforms to autonomous systems designed to operate in complex combat environments.

About the company:
